Once it became increasingly clear that the Communist threat posed during the Malayan Emergency was petering out, agreement was reached on February 8, 1956, for Malaya to gain independence from the British Empire. However, for a number of logistical and administrative reasons, it was decided that the official proclamation of independence would only be made the next year, on August 31, 1957, at Stadium Merdeka (Independence Stadium), in Kuala Lumpur.

~hurmm.dat is da fact about our independence day...kalo gov bg student hak kebebasan bersuara n demokratik..maybe kita akan dijajah smule..cth: tgk la camne sambutan malam ambang merdeka..hancur dgn telatah remaja2 kita yg inginkan hak kebebasan....neway, learn more to be patriotik...we are malaysian!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19022224.post-1157077302630574152006-09-01T02:21:00.000+00:002006-09-01T02:21:00.000+00:00Happy merdeka sharazad! may our beautiful country ...Happy merdeka sharazad! may our beautiful country remain peacefull, united, progressive, prosperous and loved by all.:)Nurul Hayatihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16216055226760816544noreply@blogger.com
